Police arrested a 26-year-old homeless man Wednesday in connection to a string of groping incidents in Chelsea last month.

Tyheem Menardy was officially charged on April 3 at approximately 1 a.m. at the NYPD’s Special Victims Division, located at 137 Centre St., in Lower Manhattan, NYPD officials said. He had been previously taken into custody for questioning, though details of how cops got him remain unknown.

Law enforcement agents accuse Menardy of forcibly touching two women in broad daylight on the West Side. Both incidents occurred within minutes of each the same morning.

According to police, the first assault happened at around 9:55 a.m. on March 26. A 34-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 9th Avenue and West 16th Street when the suspect ambushed her from behind and touched her private area.

Moments later, a 52-year-old woman was walking only a few blocks away at West 18th Street and 10th Avenue when the suspect came up behind her and grabbed her buttocks, police said.

There were no injuries as result of the incidents, but both women reported the crimes to authorities, police said.

Menardy is being charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse.
